The Moravian Museum is going to celebrate its bicentenary in 2017. However, the celebrations will start already this year, exactly on Friday, 9 September 2016.

The rich programme will include many entertaining activities, e.g. production of small sculptures from clay, Mendel´s beehive, assembling a puppet theatre from paper, decoration of Easter eggs or guided tours through the exhibition Fauna of Moravia. The highlight of the day will be unlocking the coffer with Great Moravian treasure containing gilded replicas of jewels of Great Moravian princesses – earrings, ring and pendant („gombík“- globular button). Our museum has distributed thousands of keys to this treasure. However, there is only one right key and its owner will get the treasure. The holders of the rest of the keys do not need to be disappointed – they can use their keys as a discounted ticket for 20 Czech crowns for the concert of the band Poletíme? performing from 8 p.m. in the Bishop´s Courtyard and closing the whole programme. Further details of the programme are here.
